Fun-N-Sun Day Camp Application

Seasonal Requirements

Camp starts on Monday, June 3, 2024, and runs through Friday, August 2, 2024.

Camp staff is required to attend training:

CPR/First Aid Training: TBD
Staff Training: Friday, May 31, 8:30 - 2:00

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 17 years of age.
Desire and ability to work with children
Ability to accept supervision and guidance
Good character, integrity, and adaptability
Fun, positive, and out-going personality
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Specific Responsibilities

Applicants must:

Have ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of participants with varying ages and skill levels; able to engage with children in a playful way.
Take an active role. This means that leaders must participate in all the activities that the campers do. Leaders must swim, play games, make crafts, participate in costume days, etc.
Be able to enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures. Actively supervise your campers at all times. Think ahead about possible dangers for campers. Recognize and act upon possible safety issues before they happen.
Implement child guidance techniques that promote growth and positive interactions among individuals and groups. Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the age group for which you are responsible.
Develop opportunities for community among campers. Be able to play games and lead ice breakers while waiting for the next activity to start. You are responsible for developing team unity.
Supervise care and use of camp equipment and supplies. Clean up after yourselves.
Wear designated camp attire at all times. Leaders are expected to wear longer shorts, mid-thigh or longer, and a Fun-N-Sun Staff T-shirt daily.
Attend mandatory staff orientation and training.
These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
